There are four situations for employment visa in Bahrain

1.Employee is out of Bahrain

An advertisement in local newspapers for seven days, mentioning the vacancy, company name, the e-mail, and the phone number registered in the LMRA system to allow interested Bahrainis and Expatriates residing in Bahrain to apply for the job. The LMRA postpone the Visa application process for 14 days. Once completed, the application moves to the next steps.

3.Employee is inside Bahrain and do not have any visa

If the employee visa gets canceled in less than 30 days, he can apply for the visa and transfer form with the above documents. If the visa gets canceled for more than 30 days, he will require another grace period from the National passport and residence Affairs (NPRA) to apply for a Bahrain work visa. Once the employer submits the visa application, then the system will generate a visa application ID that is a seven (7) digit number to track the visa application process.

2.Employee is inside Bahrain and under another company sponsorship/visa

The previous employer should approve the transfer of the Bahrain work visa of an existing employee or cancel the Bahrain work permit so that the new employer can submit a Bahrain work visa application for further processing. If the previous employer cancels the visa, the employee must get the visa within 30 days of the new sponsor’s grace period or get another 30 days from National Passport and residence Affairs (NPRA).

4.Employee is inside Bahrain on a visit visa

When applying for a Bahrain work visa, it is essential to include a copy of the visit visa alongside the entry stamp on the passport. It is important to note that an additional fee of BHD 60 will be charged for this transfer process.
